Previously we didn't distinguish between an empty `.related_files[]` and
a case where context collection hadn't run yet. As a result, context
retrieval was always attempted for examples with empty `related_files`.

Release Notes:
- Added support for providing an API key to OpenAI-compatible edit
prediction providers
Paving the way to remove `ExcerptId`. Done in this PR:
- Unshipped the stack trace view
- Get rid of `push_excerpts`
- Get rid of some callers of `remove_excerpts`
We still need to remove some calls to `remove_excerpts` and other APIs,
especially in `randomly_edit_excerpts` and collaboration.
Release Notes:
- The stack trace multibuffer view has been removed.

We store the byte distance between the cursor and references to each
definition. When including excerpts in the prompt, we prioritize them in
the order of proximity. I've updated the Edit Prediction Context view to
display the excerpt's `order`, and sorting the files in order of their
excerpt with the lowest order.

Previously, we were not computing excerpt regions correctly for EP
examples captured from prod. This PR fixes that, and also simplifies the
data flow in the EP CLI. Examples either come from a concise spec (like
the markdown evals), or are collected from prod. Either way, we compute
from them a `ZetaPromptInput`, and the downstream steps like
prompt-formatting and scoring are derived from that.

Users had trouble signing in due to us relying on the Copilot::global
being set, which was never the case. We've decided to use a dedicated
LSP instance just for handling auth of Copilot Chat and other goodies.
That instance is subscribed to by local Copilot instances for projects.
When the Auth instance changes it's state, local instances are prompted
to re-check their own sign in status.

Adds a new setting to GitHub Copilot to toggle the Next Edit Suggestions
feature, it is enabled by default.
## Motivations
Due to some current usability issues with this feature, see #46880, and
some personal anecdotes of using it, it is currently rough to utilize,
so this gives the option to disable it.

## Release Notes
- Adds the ability to disable GitHub Copilot's Next Edit Suggestions
feature.
## User Interface

## Text Example
The text example will be adding a `z` variable to a `Point3D` class in
TypeScript.
### With Next Edit Suggestions
In this example I am able to just press auto-complete (press TAB) 3x.
```ts
class Point3D {
x: number;
y: number;
z: number; // <-- Cursor before z: suggested
constructor(x: number,
y: number
, z: number // <-- Next Suggestion
) {
this.x = x;
this.y = y;
this.z = z; // <-- Last Suggestion
}
}
```
### Without Next Edit Suggestions
```ts
class Point3D {
x: number;
y: number;
z: number; // <-- Cursor before z: the only suggestion
constructor(x: number, y: number) {
this.x = x;
this.y = y;
}
}
```
Many editors such as vim and emacs support "modelines", a comment at the
beginning of the file that allows the file type to be explicitly
specified along with per-file specific settings
- The amount of configurations, style and settings mapping cannot be
handled in one go, so this opens up a lot of potential improvements.
- I left out the possiblity to have "zed" specific modelines for now,
but this could be potentially interesting.
- Mapping the mode or filetype to zed language names isn't obvious
either. We may want to make it configurable.
This is my first contribution to zed, be kind. I struggled a bit to find
the right place to add those settings. I use a similar approach as done
with editorconfig (merge_with_editorconfig). There might be better ways.
Closes#4762
Release Notes:
- Add basic emacs/vim modeline support.
Supersedes #41899, changes:
- limit reading to the first and last 1kb
- add documentation
- more variables handled
- add Arc around ModelineSettings to avoid extra cloning
- changed the way mode -> language mapping is done, thanks to
`modeline_aliases` language config
- drop vim ex: support
- made "Local Variables:" handling a separate commit, so we can drop it
easily
- various code style improvements

Moves the settings content definitions into their own crate, so that
they are compiled+cached separately from settings, primarily to avoid
recompiles due to changes in gpui. In that vain many gpui types such as
font weight/features, and `SharedString` were replaced in the content
crate, either with `*Content` types for font/modifier things, or
`String`/`Arc<str>` for `SharedString`. To make the conversions easy a
new trait method in the settings crate named `IntoGpui::into_gpui`
allows for `into()` like conversions to the gpui types in
`from_settings` impls.

This PR removes the const generics limitation from the data table
component, enabling tables with a dynamic number of columns determined
at runtime.
**Context:**
This is the next infrastructure step split out from the [original CSV
preview draft PR](https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/44344). The
draft PR remains open as a reference and will continue to be decomposed
into smaller, reviewable pieces.
**Details:**
- Introduces a `TableRow` newtype to enforce column count invariants at
runtime, replacing the previous const generic approach. It's api surface
is larger than is currently used, as it's planned to be used in CSV
feature itself.
- Refactors the data table and all usages (including the keymap editor)
to work with runtime column counts.
- This change is foundational for supporting CSV preview and other
features that require flexible, dynamic tables.
- Performance impact has not been formally measured, but there is no
noticeable slowdown in practice.
