Previously, if you wanted to have a button that contains icons on both
edges, you'd need to use a `ButtonLike` component, which takes any
children. Meanwhile, the `Button` would only take one icon, where you
could control its position through the `IconPosition` enum. This has
always felt unnecessarily limiting. So, this PR removes this limitation
by adding two new methods to the button: `start_icon` and `end_icon`.
In the meantime, I have also been bothered by the unnecessary
indirection in the `IconButton` due to the existence of the `ButtonIcon`
component. So I figured I could also completely eliminate that by adding
some of its methods directly to the `IconButton` and in the Button, just
using a regular `Icon` component.
---
## Before
```rust
Button::new("id", "Label")
.icon(IconName::Plus)
.icon_position(IconPosition::Start)
.icon_size(IconSize::Small)
.icon_color(Color::Muted)
```
## After
```rust
Button::new("id", "Label")
.start_icon(Icon::new(IconName::Check))
.end_icon(Icon::new(IconName::ChevronDown).size(IconSize::XSmall))
```
This should have no visual impact to the UI.

Closes#47113
Adds configurable REPL output size limits with two new settings,
`repl.output_max_height_lines` and `repl.output_max_width_columns`, so
large outputs scroll instead of expanding and images scale down to fit
the available space. The output containers in both inline REPL blocks
and notebook cells now respect these bounds, and image sizing uses the
same text metrics as the terminal output for consistent column-based
width calculations.
Release Notes:
- REPL output now supports configurable max height and width limits,
with large outputs scrolling and images scaling to stay within the
viewport.
Brought the Markdown output up to date with how Markdown is used in the
Agent panel. This fixed an issue with outputs that were too large for
the execution view as well as made sure that markdown would wrap.

Coming from discussion on #25936 and
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/pull/19756 .
This PR introduces the KernelSession abstraction and adds basic notebook
cell execution inside NotebookEditor.
The following provides a base starter for the development on Notebooks.
What this PR includes today:
Release Notes:
- KernelSession trait extracted. Both REPL and NotebookEditor now share
the same routing mechanism.
- NotebookEditor can launch kernels, execute code cells, and display
outputs.
- Basic cell operations: run current cell, run all, move up/down, add
code/markdown blocks. Keybindings follow Jupyter defaults.
Next Steps:
- [x] Editing support for markdown and code blocks.
- Buffer integration instead of temporary cell text.
- [x] Proper focus behavior when executing or adding cells.
- Kernel control UI.
A little far fetched steps:
- Vim Support
- Cell Handling Improvement and other convenient features and design
from other editors
- Ability to have better parsing for AI Support.
I have attached a video of showcasing some of the features:

Closes#39172
This refactors when we resolve UI keybindings in an effort to reduce
flickering whilst painting these: Previously, we would always resolve
these upon creating the binding. This could lead to cases where the
corresponding context was not yet available and no binding could be
resolved, even if the binding was then available on the next presented
frame. Following that, on the next rerender of whatever requested this
keybinding, the keybind for that context would then be found, we would
render that and then also win a layout shift in that process, as we went
from nothing rendered to something rendered between these frames.
With these changes, this now happens less often, because we only look
for the keybinding once the context can actually be resolved in the
window.

Also reduced cloning in the keymap editor in this process, since that
requiered changing due to this anyway.
Release Notes:
- Fixed some cases where keybinds would appear with a slight delay,
causing a flicker in the process
We were spawning the process on the foreground thread before which can
block an arbitrary amount of time. Likewise we no longer block
deserialization on the terminal loading.
Release Notes:
- Improved startup time on systems with slow process spawning
capabilities
This PR improves the toggle button group to be more responsive across
different layouts. This is accomplished by ensuring each button takes up
the same amount of space in the parent containers layout.
Ideally, this should be done with grids instead of a flexbox container,
as this would be much better suited for this purpose. Yet, since we lack
support for this, we go with this route for now.

This is really just a small beginning, as there are many other icons to
be revised and cleaned up. Our current set is a bit of a mess in terms
of dimension, spacing, stroke width, and terminology. I'm sure there are
more non-used icons I'm not covering here, too. We'll hopefully tackle
it all soon leading up to 1.0.

Previously, if editing a long previous user message in the thread, you'd
have a double scroll situation because the editor used in that case had
its max number of lines capped. To solve that, I made the `max_lines` in
the editor `AutoHeight` mode optional, allowing me to not pass any
arbitrary number to the previous user message editor, and ultimately,
solving the double scroll problem by not having any scroll at all.
Release Notes:
- agent: Fixed double scroll that happened when editing a long previous
user message.
@ConradIrwin adding you as a reviewer as I'm touching editor code
here... want to be careful. :)
* Adds `min_lines` to `EditorMode::AutoHeight` and use `min_lines: 4` in
agent message editor. This makes it so that clicks in the blank space
below the first line of the editor also focus it, instead of needing to
click the very first line.
* Removes the div wrapping the editor, as it was only there to set
`min_h_16()`. This also tightens up the min space given to the editor -
before it was not evenly dividing the number of lines.
* Further tightens up vertical spacing by using `gap_1` instead of
`gap_4` between editor and controls below
At 4 line min height (after on the left, before on the right):

At 5 lines, one more than min height (after on the left, before on the

Release Notes:
- Agent: Fixed clicking to focus the message editor to also work for
clicks below the last line.
https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/30972 brought up another
case where our context is not enough to track the actual source of the
issue: we get a general top-level error without inner error.
The reason for this was `.ok_or_else(|| anyhow!("failed to read HEAD
SHA"))?; ` on the top level.
The PR finally reworks the way we use anyhow to reduce such issues (or
at least make it simpler to bubble them up later in a fix).
On top of that, uses a few more anyhow methods for better readability.
* `.ok_or_else(|| anyhow!("..."))`, `map_err` and other similar error
conversion/option reporting cases are replaced with `context` and
`with_context` calls
* in addition to that, various `anyhow!("failed to do ...")` are
stripped with `.context("Doing ...")` messages instead to remove the
parasitic `failed to` text
* `anyhow::ensure!` is used instead of `if ... { return Err(...); }`
calls
* `anyhow::bail!` is used instead of `return Err(anyhow!(...));`

I haven't yet added a default binding for the new command. #27797 added `:ls` and
`:buffers` which in my opinion should use the global searchable version
given that that matches the vim semantics of those commands better than
just showing the tabs in the local pane.
There's also a question of what to do when you select a tab from another
pane, should the focus jump to that pane or should that tab move to the
currently focused pane? For now I've implemented the former.
Release Notes:
- Added `tab_switcher::ToggleAll` to search open tabs from all panes and focus the selected one.

Part of https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/12853
`"restore_on_file_reopen": true` in workspace settings can now be used
to enable and disable editor data between file reopens in the same pane:
https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/8d938ee1-d854-42a8-bbc3-2a4e4d7d5933
The settings are generic and panes' data store can be extended for
further entities, beyond editors.
---------------
Impl details:
Currently, the project entry IDs seem to be stable across file reopens,
unlike BufferIds, so those were used.
Originally, the DB data was considered over in-memory one as editors
serialize their state anyway, but managing and exposing PaneIds out of
the DB is quite tedious and joining the DB data otherwise is not
possible.

While looking through the client crate, I noticed that some of the old
functions and variables were still using gpui::model name that was
deprecated during the gpui3 transition. This PR renames those instances
of model to entity to be more inline with gpui3.
