Kirill Bulatov d97fd4daf0 Use Rope instead of String for buffer diff base (#11300)
As an attempt to do things better when showing diff hunks, store diff
base as Rope, not String, to have cheaper clones when the diff base text
is reused, e.g. creating another buffer with the diff base text for hunk
diff expanding.

Kirill Bulatov 73ac7d7292 Allow to toggle git hunk diffs (#11080)
Part of https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/issues/4523

Added two new actions with the default keybindings

```
"cmd-'": "editor::ToggleHunkDiff",
"cmd-\"": "editor::ExpandAllHunkDiffs",
```

that allow to browse git hunk diffs in Zed:

https://github.com/zed-industries/zed/assets/2690773/9a8a7d10-ed06-4960-b4ee-fe28fc5c4768

The hunks are dynamic and alter on user folds and modifications, or
toggle hidden, if the modifications were not adjacent to the expanded
hunk.

Release Notes:

- Added `editor::ToggleHunkDiff` (`cmd-'`) and
`editor::ExpandAllHunkDiffs` (`cmd-"`) actions to browse git hunk diffs
in Zed

Nathan SoboandPiotr Osiewicz 793ae4f37d Improve the ergonomics of creating local buffers (#10347)
This PR renames `language::Buffer::new` to `language::Buffer::local` and
simplifies its interface. Instead of taking a replica id (which should
always be 0 for the local case) and a `BufferId`, which was awkward and
verbose to construct, it simply takes text and a `cx`.

It uses the `cx` to derive a `BufferId` from the `EntityId` associated
with the `cx`, which should always be positive based on the following
analysis...

We convert the entity id to a u64 using this method on `EntityId`, which
is defined by macros in the `slotmap` crate:

```rust
    pub fn as_ffi(self) -> u64 {
        (u64::from(self.version.get()) << 32) | u64::from(self.idx)
    }
```

If you look at the type of `version` in `KeyData`, it is non-zero:

```rust
#[derive(Clone, Copy, PartialEq, Eq, PartialOrd, Ord, Hash)]
pub struct KeyData {
    idx: u32,
    version: NonZeroU32,
}
```

This commit also adds `Context::reserve_model` and
`Context::insert_model` to determine a model's entity ID before it is
created, which we need in order to assign a `BufferId` in the background
when loading a buffer asynchronously.

We ran into a panic when deleting text that was just generated by a code
action.

This fixes it by ensuring we don't run into a 0-minus-1 panic when a
buffer_range is empty.

Release Notes:

Max BrunsfeldandMarshall b43d623c67 Add a setting for custom associations between languages and files (#9290)
Closes #5178

Release Notes:

- Added a `file_types` setting that can be used to associate languages
with file names and file extensions. For example, to interpret all `.c`
files as C++, and files called `MyLockFile` as TOML, add the following
to `settings.json`:

    ```json
    {
      "file_types": {
        "C++": ["c"],
        "TOML": ["MyLockFile"]
      }
    }
    ```

As with most zed settings, this can be configured on a per-directory
basis by including a local `.zed/settings.json` file in that directory.

vultix 91bdba2556 Add new argument vim text object (#7791)
This PR adds a new `argument` vim text object, inspired by
[targets.vim](https://github.com/wellle/targets.vim).

As it's the first vim text object to use the syntax tree, it needed to
operate on the `Buffer` level, not the `MultiBuffer` level, then map the
buffer coordinates to `DisplayPoint` as necessary.

This required two main changes:
1. `innermost_enclosing_bracket_ranges` and `enclosing_bracket_ranges`
were moved into `Buffer`. The `MultiBuffer` implementations were updated
to map to/from these.
2. `MultiBuffer::excerpt_containing` was made public, returning a new
`MultiBufferExcerpt` type that contains a reference to the excerpt and
methods for mapping to/from `Buffer` and `MultiBuffer` offsets and
ranges.

Release Notes:
- Added new `argument` vim text object, inspired by

fb16f7e5c5 Improve sorting of completion results (#7727)

2. When tied: rank keywords higher than variables

Release Notes:

- Improved sorting of completion results to prefer literal matches.

Bennet Bo Fenner 56e8126a6e Show diagnostics in scrollbar (#7175)
This PR implements support for displaying diagnostics in the scrollbar,
similar to what is already done for search results, symbols, git diff,

references looks like this in `buffer.rs` (note the red lines in the
scrollbar):

Piotr Osiewicz 5b9069b9b7 Bump Rust to 1.75 (#3815)
**This PR also bumps wasmtime version from 0.38 to 2.0 as 0.38 does not
build with Rust 1.75**. I did not test the plugin runtime as (AFAIK) we
intend to deprecate it; also, wasmtime's most recent version is 16.0, so
it'd make sense to bump the version at some point anyways. I did not
bump the version to 16.0 straight away as that'd require code changes in
`plugin_runtime`.
