- Form widgets appear as overlays over the rasterized field appearances: text fields take an inline editor (Enter commits, Escape leaves), checkboxes and radios toggle on click, and dropdowns open their options. - Committed edits rewrite the document once and swap renders over to the rewritten bytes, so filled values are visible immediately and travel into the saved copy. - The engine layer drives pdfium's form API through the public bindings trait, with RAII guards for the document, form environment, page, and annotation handles, and it reports unmatched field names instead of dropping edits silently.

Zed source code is licensed primarily under GPL-3.0-or-later, with Apache-2.0 components where marked.
License information for third party dependencies must be correctly provided for CI to pass.
We use cargo-about to automatically comply with open source licenses. If CI is failing, check the following:
- Is it showing a
no license specifiederror for a crate you've created? If so, addpublish = falseunder[package]in your crate's Cargo.toml. - Is the error
failed to satisfy license requirementsfor a dependency? If so, first determine what license the project has and whether this system is sufficient to comply with this license's requirements.
